This morning we had a security meeting which ended my plans to visit some villages near Beni early. There was even talk of a curfew! The security situation here is not great, but not that bad either. Apparently there is a plan by the government to arrest the main rebel leader who is causing most of the problems. Easier said than done - they went to his house to arrest him, but he had already dissappeared. Now there is concern over how he might react. See the map below for an explanation of the situation:
