This is a picture of downtown Beni - where all the shops and restaurants are. The town is very dusty and this street is usually busy with people on motorbikes - the main form of transport here - even taxis come as bikes...
Today I finally moved into my house with a colleague - the house is nice but a bit too big for 2 people. The house is still partially under construction - today we still do not have water and only a small generator for electricity. In other words, we do not have a generator powerful enough for the house and the municipal authorities have not filled up the water tank... It will hopefully be resolved tomorrow or Monday - though things move slowly here.
Our satellite was finally fixed, so we are now back in communication with the outside world.
