The Lake District, UK: 23-25 April

Just before going to Argentina I made a short trip to England to go walking in the hills. I went to a town near to the Scottish border called Carlisle - the region is called the Lake District because of the numerous lakes in the area. The views were great, but sometimes I got vertigo!

Here's where I stayed - Carlisle Castle, probably the best place to stay in town:

Carlisle is also known for its cathedral:

After all the walking I was quite tired.. so it probably wasn't the best preparation for my trip to Argentina... but it was nice to visit England. I think the last time I visited the Lake District was 25 years ago! I have travelled quite a lot but not so much in England.
