Here is one last message from Beni...I will be leaving on Friday to go to Kinshasa (the capital city), where I will do lots of administration (hand back all my equipment, have a medical check and collect my final pay cheque)! This will take about a week. As I have to pack up my computer, this will be my last opportunity to write here in Beni, however, I shall write again from Kinshasa.
This last week there has been lots of activity in response to the suspected incursions into Congo by the Rwandan Army - we have seen lots of soldiers mobilising for the frontier. Their morale is high - they sing and explain that they are looking forward to fighting the Rwandese! As this is my last week, I have not been too busy - just packing up and saying goodbye to people here...
